PCCB ceramic discs, multi-caliper replacement, hydraulic-unit faults, extensive ABS wiring work, recovery and special-order freight are excluded unless separately written into the quotation. A free initial fault check can confirm the next useful step; extended testing or dismantling is priced before it begins.

The axle matters because front and rear components are not priced as one set. A pad warning may need only one axle, while grinding, heavy scoring or uneven wear can add discs, sensors or caliper work. Large Turbo, GTS, E-Hybrid, PSCB and PCCB assemblies also cost more than smaller conventional steel systems. Send the VIN or registration details before booking so parts availability can be checked, but expect the final decision to follow a physical condition check.

What we check

A dashboard message can identify pad wear, but it cannot confirm disc thickness, caliper movement or the condition of every axle. A useful brake quotation starts with the fitted hardware and measured condition.

Pad material
Inner and outer pads can wear at different rates. We inspect both sides where access allows and check whether the wear sensor has contacted the disc.
Disc condition
Thickness, scoring, heat marks, lips and cracking help determine whether a disc can remain in service. Visual appearance alone is not enough.
Caliper operation
Uneven wear, pulling or heat can involve a sticking piston, guide hardware, hose restriction or debris rather than the pad set alone.
Fluid and warnings
Fluid age, visible leaks, pedal feel and stored ABS or parking-brake faults guide any work beyond routine friction parts.

Brake warning signs

Do not wait for grinding or a long pedal. The pattern of the symptom helps separate normal wear from a hydraulic, electronic or mechanical problem.

01

Pad warning message

A wear sensor has usually completed its circuit. The relevant axle needs inspection, including the disc and sensor lead, before the remaining distance is judged.

02

Judder while braking

Steering-wheel or pedal vibration can involve disc thickness variation, deposits, hub condition, suspension movement or tyre issues. Replacing pads alone may not cure it.

03

Grinding or scraping

Metallic noise can mean the friction material is exhausted or debris is trapped. Limit driving and arrange a prompt check to avoid damaging a reusable disc.

04

Pulling or excess heat

A hot wheel, smell or pull to one side may indicate caliper drag, hose restriction or uneven pad contact. Stop if braking performance is reduced.

Brake system types

Panamera generations and specifications use different disc sizes, calipers and friction materials. The correct parts must be matched to the vehicle identification and the hardware on the car.

Conventional steel brakes
Most routine pad and disc work falls within the published planning ranges. Disc diameter and axle still change part cost.
PSCB coated brakes
Porsche Surface Coated Brake components need the correct matching friction material and a condition check. They should not be priced as an ordinary steel set without verification.
PCCB ceramic brakes
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake discs require careful inspection for damage and thickness or wear criteria. Ceramic discs are quoted individually after identification and measurement.
Hybrid and Turbo variants
Regenerative braking, performance specifications and larger hardware can change wear patterns, service procedures and part prices. The exact model and VIN matter.

Parts and repair choices

The lowest pad price is not always the lowest complete repair cost. Friction material, disc condition, sensors and caliper movement must work together.

01

Genuine Porsche parts

Genuine parts offer clear Porsche branding and fitment, with pricing that can be higher. The quotation should still state exactly which pads, discs and sensors are included.

Useful when
The owner prioritises brand provenance or the brake specification has limited alternatives.
02

OE-supplier options

Parts from an established original-equipment supplier may provide a practical balance of availability, braking character and price. Fitment must be checked against the car.

Useful when
A compatible brand and material are documented in the written estimate.
03

Related repair work

A damaged sensor lead, seized caliper, worn hose, wheel-bearing concern or parking-brake fault should be listed separately. It should not be hidden inside a broad brake replacement line.

Useful when
The cause of uneven wear or a warning is confirmed before extra parts are approved.
One symptom can have several causes

What the symptoms mean

A targeted inspection protects you from paying for pads or discs that do not address the actual fault.

What the job includes

The final work depends on measured wear, but the quotation should make the core items and exclusions easy to compare.

Correct axle parts
Pads are replaced as an axle set. Discs are also paired on the axle when replacement is needed. Part numbers are checked before fitting.
Sensor and hardware check
Wear sensors, clips and accessible mounting hardware are inspected. A contacted sensor is normally replaced rather than reused.
Controlled installation
Contact faces are prepared, components are fitted correctly and the electronic parking brake is handled with the suitable service procedure where applicable.
Handover check
Pedal feel, warning status and basic operation are verified. You receive bedding and early-use advice for new friction parts.

New pads and discs need a controlled bedding period. During the first drives, avoid repeated hard stops unless traffic safety requires them, and allow the brakes to cool between heavier applications. A light coating of surface rust after washing or overnight humidity can clear with normal use, but persistent vibration, pulling, smell, smoke or a hot wheel needs a prompt recheck. If the pedal becomes soft or a warning returns, stop treating it as normal bedding and contact the workshop.

From warning to handover

How the repair works

  1. 1

    Identify the car

Send the model year, variant, VIN if available and a photo of the wheel or warning message.

  2. 2

    Inspect and measure

We confirm the brake type, relevant axle, pad wear, disc condition and any hydraulic or electronic concern.

  3. 3

    Approve the price

The written estimate names the parts, labour, sensors, VAT, exclusions and expected completion time.

  4. 4

    Fit and verify

Approved work is completed, warnings are checked and the handover includes bedding guidance where relevant.

Clear before work begins

Timing and approval

Common steel-brake work can often be completed the same working day when parts are available. Ceramic discs, uncommon calipers and electronic faults may require extra time.

Before the visit

Send the model year, variant, mileage, dashboard message and whether the symptom comes from the front or rear. A photo of the wheel can help identify the fitted brake option.

Before extra work

If dismantling reveals a seized caliper, damaged sensor lead, worn hose or another item outside the agreed estimate, the price is explained before the additional repair proceeds.

At handover

Check that the warning has cleared where applicable, the pedal feels consistent and you understand the bedding guidance. Report a new leak, pull, severe heat or persistent warning promptly.

Panamera brake FAQs

How much does Panamera brake pad replacement cost in Dubai?

Steel-brake pad replacement usually plans at AED 1,890–3,150 per axle including 5% VAT. The price changes with the Panamera generation, front or rear axle, pad brand, wear sensors and disc condition. PSCB and PCCB systems require separate identification before pricing.

Do Panamera brake discs need replacing with the pads?

Not automatically. Discs should be measured and checked for scoring, cracks, heat damage, thickness variation and their service limit. If the discs remain suitable, pads can be replaced on their own. Worn or damaged discs should be replaced as an axle pair with compatible pads.

Can I drive after a brake pad warning appears?

A pad warning usually means the wear sensor has contacted, but it does not state the remaining distance or disc condition. Arrange inspection promptly and avoid delaying until grinding begins. If braking feels weak, the pedal is soft, a wheel is very hot or fluid is leaking, stop safely and arrange recovery.

What is the difference between steel, PSCB and PCCB brakes?

Conventional systems use iron or steel discs. PSCB uses a coated disc with matching friction material, while PCCB uses ceramic-composite discs. The three systems have different parts, inspection criteria and prices, so the fitted hardware must be confirmed before ordering.

Why does my Panamera judder when braking?

Judder can come from disc thickness variation, uneven deposits, hub runout, suspension movement or tyre condition. The speed, pedal feel and whether the steering wheel moves help narrow the cause. Pads alone should not be replaced until the disc and hub condition are considered.

How long does Panamera brake work take?

A straightforward pad replacement normally takes two to four hours. Steel discs and pads can often be completed the same working day. Caliper faults, ABS wiring, parking-brake actuators, PCCB parts or special-order components can extend the repair to one or more working days.

Is brake fluid included with pad replacement?

Brake fluid is a separate maintenance item unless the written quotation specifically includes it. Pad replacement does not normally require opening the hydraulic circuit. Fluid service is advised according to condition and maintenance timing, while leaks or a soft pedal require their own investigation.
