A Cayman service matched to your generation

The Cayman name covers several engines and brake and gearbox configurations. We handle the identification so the job is right for your car.

987 / 981

Earlier six-cylinder Cayman

The earlier Cayman generations use six-cylinder engines, with differences in capacity, fuel system, transmission and maintenance requirements. We identify the actual version before choosing fluids or ordering parts.

Age, service history and previous repairs can matter as much as mileage. A useful first visit checks what is due now and which observations can be monitored.

718 / 2.0 & 2.5

Turbocharged four-cylinder Cayman

The 718 2.0 and 2.5 engines have their own oil approvals, ignition parts, cooling connections and turbo-related checks. A boost complaint needs diagnosis of the actual fault before a turbocharger is recommended.

An S badge or a model year alone does not establish every fitted part. We confirm the engine and equipment when preparing the quote.

718 / 4.0 & GT

Six-cylinder performance versions

The 4.0-liter GTS and GT variants need the maintenance and parts specified for their engine and equipment. Brake options, transmission, use and service history affect the work.

Tell us about track use or modifications. Those details help us assess consumables and maintenance without automatically applying a road-car interval to every situation.

Maintain the mid-engine layout properly

The Cayman places its engine behind the seats and uses cooling components toward the front of the car. That layout affects access, the path of cooling pipes and where a leak may become visible. A mark on the undertray does not reliably identify the component above it.

For oil leaks, cooling faults and unexplained smells, we inspect the relevant area and explain any access work before dismantling. A small seal can be inexpensive as a part yet require significant labor to reach. You should see that distinction in the quotation.

Cooling concerns can involve a front radiator, a hose connection, a pump, a housing or another part of the circuit. We identify the source, check the related condition and include the necessary refill and bleeding procedure in the agreed repair.

If the temperature rises abnormally, the dashboard instructs you to stop or fluid is escaping rapidly, stop safely and contact us about assistance. Do not open a hot coolant reservoir. A service booking is not a reason to continue driving an overheating engine.

Give each concern the right attention

A repair, a scheduled service and an advisory are different decisions. Your estimate should make each one easy to understand.

Fix the fault you came in with

Tell us when the problem occurs, whether the car is hot or cold and what changed. We check the complaint, explain the finding and price the required work. A warning light is a starting point for testing, not proof that the component named in a code must be replaced.

If you have a quotation from another workshop, we can help compare the included parts and labor. A second opinion is most useful when both estimates describe the same confirmed fault and completed repair.

Complete due maintenance

Oil, filters, spark plugs, brake fluid and transmission servicing follow the relevant schedule and history. Overdue items are explained separately from repairs.

Plan future work

We identify condition-related recommendations that can be planned. You approve additional work separately instead of discovering it on the final invoice.

Oil, filters and the next service

A minor service starts with the oil approval and quantity specified for your engine, the correct filter and required sealing items. We check the relevant levels and visible condition, complete the applicable service reset and record the work. Oil viscosity by itself does not confirm Porsche approval.

An interval or major service adds the items due for the car and its history. That may include further filters, spark plugs, brake-fluid replacement or other scheduled work. A package name is less useful than a written list showing what is included and why it is due.

For budgeting, interval-service estimates are AED 1,575–2,310 for the 718 2.0/2.5, AED 1,680–2,625 for earlier Boxster/Cayman models and AED 2,415–3,675 for the 718 4.0/GT group. Major-service estimates are AED 3,675–5,040, AED 3,990–5,775 and AED 5,775–8,400 respectively. These figures include 5% VAT; the final schedule is confirmed for your car.

If you only need an oil-and-filter visit, say so when booking. We can explain which other items are due without automatically turning every appointment into a major service. For the dedicated oil service, see Cayman oil change.

Keep braking and handling precise

A Cayman should brake predictably and track consistently. Worn pads, damaged discs, tired suspension joints, wheel or tire damage and alignment concerns need different checks. A vibration through the steering wheel should not be sold a single repair before its cause is established.

Brake-pad replacement is quoted by axle and the fitted system. We check pad wear, disc condition and the relevant sensors before ordering. PCCB and other special brake equipment need the correct compatible parts and are excluded from the standard-brake budget.

For suspension noise, uneven tire wear or an unsettled ride, we inspect the relevant joints, bushes, mounts and dampers. Electronic or adjustable equipment is identified where fitted. We explain which part has failed and whether alignment or related fitting work belongs in the final total.

Tell us about a recent pothole or curb impact and any change in steering or braking. If a tire is damaged, a wheel is insecure or braking is impaired, discuss transport with us instead of driving the car to an ordinary appointment.

Manual gearbox and PDK repairs

We confirm the transmission installed in your Cayman and explain the work before parts are ordered. For wider repair information, see Porsche transmission repair.

Shifting faults

Describe whether the issue occurs when selecting a gear, pulling away, changing under load or maneuvering. Warning messages and diagnostic findings need to be considered together. We agree any further testing before recommending a clutch, control component or gearbox repair.

Clutch and related parts

A manual-clutch quotation identifies the fitted parts and any related components that need replacement based on condition. A slipping clutch, a hydraulic fault and a gear-selection problem do not automatically require the same work.

Transmission servicing

The fitted transmission determines the correct fluid, service items and procedure. A gearbox oil service is maintenance; it does not guarantee that an established mechanical or electronic fault will disappear. We separate the service price from any repair recommendation.

Engine concerns need evidence

Persistent smoke, abnormal oil consumption, misfiring or a new mechanical noise deserves an assessment. The cause may involve an external leak, ignition, ventilation, a sensor or an internal problem. A routine oil change is not a promised cure for those symptoms.

We start with the complaint and available history, then explain the checks needed to narrow the fault. Further mechanical testing or dismantling is agreed separately. If the findings justify internal engine work, you receive a specific repair proposal and price instead of a generic engine replacement recommendation.

Do not assume a known issue discussed online applies to every Cayman generation. We check the engine and the evidence on your vehicle. Previous repairs, modifications and operating conditions can change what needs attention.

For non-running vehicles or a serious warning, call before arranging the visit so transport and workshop assessment can be planned together. Our Cayman engine repair page explains larger engine work when it is relevant.

An easier Cayman workshop visit

Start with the model and what you need. You do not need a parts list or a diagnosis. We can check availability, discuss the likely price and arrange an appointment. Service records and earlier quotations are useful if you have them; we can ask for further vehicle details when they help identify parts.

Free pickup and delivery, a free initial health check and a wash and vacuum after service are available through the workshop. Tell us where the car is and whether it can be moved safely when arranging collection. Any extended fault testing or dismantling is explained and agreed first.

The quote confirms parts, labor, fluids, VAT and the expected workshop stay. Genuine and suitable supplier-branded options are discussed where available, with the selected parts identified. Availability can affect timing, especially for less common engine or performance equipment.

Relevant repairs carry the workshop’s 12-month repair warranty under its policy. At collection, we explain what was completed, provide the service record and distinguish any remaining recommendation from the work already paid for.

Questions before you book

How much is a Porsche Cayman service in Dubai?

Minor-service estimates including 5% VAT are AED 945–1,365 for the 718 2.0/2.5, AED 1,050–1,575 for earlier Boxster/Cayman models and AED 1,575–2,205 for the 718 4.0/GT group. The engine and due items determine the final quotation.

Do you work on both four-cylinder and six-cylinder Caymans?

Yes. We identify the engine and generation before selecting parts, fluids or maintenance. The 718 2.0/2.5 turbo engines and six-cylinder 987, 981 and 4.0-liter variants have different requirements.

Can I book a repair without a service package?

Yes. Tell us the problem you want checked. We price the confirmed repair and identify any due maintenance separately so you can decide what to approve.

Will a PDK oil change fix a gearbox warning?

Not necessarily. A warning or shifting fault needs an assessment. A scheduled oil service and a gearbox repair are different jobs, and we explain which work the findings support.

Can I choose Genuine or alternative parts?

We explain available Genuine and suitable supplier-branded options for the actual application. The quotation identifies the selected parts, fitting and warranty terms. Special equipment can restrict the suitable choices.

How long will my Cayman stay at the workshop?

Straightforward servicing may fit within a same-day visit when parts and capacity allow. Fault diagnosis, difficult access or ordered components can require longer. We confirm the expected time after the work is identified.

Is pickup and delivery available?

Yes, free pickup and delivery can be arranged with the booking. Tell us whether the car has an overheating, braking or other concern that may require transport rather than driving.
