What has changed in your Boxster seat?
A faded finish, torn panel, and flattened cushion need different work. Tell us where the damage is and whether the seat has been repaired before.
Scuffed or cracked bolster
The outer edge takes repeated contact when you enter a low sports seat. Surface color wear may be restorable while the leather underneath remains sound.
Next step: send a close-up showing whether the surface is rubbed or split through.
Open seam or deep tear
Loose thread can sometimes be restitched. A torn leather edge or brittle panel may need replacement rather than another layer of filler.
Next step: show the whole seam and exposed backing. Mention any nearby airbag label.
Fading, stains, or lost shape
Cleaning may improve intact leather. Worn color needs refinishing; a sunken bolster needs its cushion assessed before a cover is tightened over it.
Next step: send a whole-seat photo and describe any discomfort, dampness, or odor.
Boxster leather seat services
We inspect the finish, backing, seams, and cushion before recommending the smallest suitable repair.
Local leather restoration
Cleaning, preparation, suitable surface repair, and localized color restoration for scuffs, light cracks, or minor damage in serviceable leather.
Stitching and panel replacement
Repair a suitable ordinary seam or replace an affected bolster, seat-base panel, or backrest insert. Material, stitch pattern, and access determine the quotation.
Seat retrimming and cushion work
Recover one seat or coordinate both seats when multiple panels are worn. Inspect flattened foam separately so the finished seat has the intended shape and support.
Boxster leather seat repair prices
These tentative AED ranges include 5% VAT. They cover the stated area, panel, seam, or single seat, not both seats or the whole cabin.
Minor surface repair
One localized area, such as a scuffed section of the outer bolster, where the underlying leather is sound. Includes preparation and local finishing; excludes a replacement panel.
AED 525–735per local areaColor restoration
Preparation and recoloring of an agreed worn area on one seat. Whole-seat color changes require a separate quote.
AED 840–1,260per agreed areaOrdinary seam repair
Access and restitching where the leather edge is sound. Airbag deployment seams are not ordinary upholstery work.
AED 472.50–1,050per seamOne leather panel retrim
Supply and fit a replacement bolster or insert panel. Leather grade, perforation, pattern, and access change the price.
AED 945–1,890per panelExtensive seat restoration
Multiple repairable areas on one seat, with the exact areas and finishing listed. New foam or a complete cover is separate.
AED 1,575–2,625per seatFull leather seat retrim
An indicative allowance for retrimming one seat in an agreed leather. Confirm cushion, backrest, headrest, and side-panel coverage in the quote. Original Porsche covers, special materials, foam, and custom detailing are priced separately.
AED 2,625–4,200per seatYour written quote identifies the repair area, material, finish, labor, and total including VAT. Seat removal and refitting are not automatically included in every range: confirm whether they are needed and included in your total. Foam, heating, ventilation, motors, sensors, structural repairs, and original Porsche covers are separate unless listed. Free initial inspection covers the initial damage assessment; ask whether any further dismantling or preparation carries a charge before authorizing it.
One worn bolster does not always mean a new seat.
Send the year, a full-seat photo, and close-ups of the damage. We can discuss a suitable repair level and provisional price before inspection.
Repair the finish, replace a panel, or retrim?
Choose the work based on material condition and the result you want. A lower price is useful only if the proposed repair suits the damaged area.
Restore the existing surface
Best fit: localized abrasion, fading, and limited repairable damage.
Keeps more of the existing upholstery. Cleaning and preparation matter because a new finish over contamination or a failing previous coating may not hold well.
Limit: color work cannot rebuild collapsed foam or make brittle leather strong again.
Replace the damaged panel
Best fit: a worn-through bolster, torn edge, or isolated failed insert.
Replaces the material where it is needed while keeping other panels. We compare the available grain, tone, perforation, piping, and stitching with the surrounding seat.
Limit: new material can look different beside aged leather.
Retrim the complete seat
Best fit: widespread deterioration or an agreed change of material or color.
Allows a coordinated finish across the seat. Compare one-seat work with both seats if the difference between new and aged upholstery would bother you.
Limit: an upholstery retrim does not replace the frame, electronics, or restraint system.

Agree the leather finish before work starts
A factory color code helps, but the current seat may have faded or been refinished. We assess the surrounding upholstery before choosing the repair finish.
- Color and sheen: compare the existing tone and gloss, not just a sample viewed on a phone.
- Grain and perforation: smooth bolsters and perforated inserts need different material choices. Holes should not be filled with a heavy surface coating.
- Stitching and piping: thread color, seam placement, and edge detail affect the finished appearance.
- Material identity: leather, synthetic covering, and Alcantara or other microfiber inserts require appropriate treatments. Ask the quote to name the proposed material and identify any substitute.
- Your retrim allowance: confirm the available material sample, grade, panels included, and any surcharge for perforation or special stitching. A custom leather cover is not automatically an original Porsche replacement cover.
We aim for a close, agreed match. An invisible repair or exact factory finish cannot be promised for every aged panel. Review any expected difference before approving the work.
Your seat specification changes the repair
The year and model help identify the seat, but optional equipment and previous retrimming also matter. Send a full seat photo even if you know the generation.
Older leather and previous repairs
On an older 986 or 987, check the leather backing and adjacent panels as well as the visible crack. Old coatings, hardening, and earlier filler can change whether another surface repair is worthwhile.
Sport and comfort seat options
On 981 and 718 Boxster models, identify the fitted seat and insert material. A model badge alone does not establish the panel pattern, adjustment system, or cover specification.
Heating, ventilation, and special seats
Tell us which functions are fitted and whether they work. Bucket seats, special covers, heating elements, occupancy sensors, and restraint-related areas need assessment before a standard upholstery quote applies.
Our Boxster seat repair process
Inspect the material and damage
Review your photos, then check the seat in person where needed. Note existing wear, previous repairs, cushion condition, and any electrical or safety concern.
Agree the finish and quotation
Choose local repair, a panel, or retrimming. Confirm material, color direction, price, removal requirements, timing, and applicable warranty before work starts.
Prepare and restore
Clean and prepare the relevant surface, carry out the approved repair or material replacement, and allow the selected products their required drying or curing time.
Check and hand over
Review the finish, seams, panel fit, and relevant seat functions where disturbed. Receive care guidance, any use restrictions while the finish cures, and your itemized invoice.

Care after leather restoration
Ask when the repaired surface can be used, cleaned, or treated. Dry-to-touch and fully cured are not always the same.
- Use a cleaner suited to the actual material and test it on a hidden area first. Avoid household solvents or aggressive scrubbing.
- Remove grit and clothing debris gently. Reduce dragging across the outer bolster when entering and leaving the car.
- Blot spills promptly and avoid soaking seams or perforated areas. Follow the care instructions supplied for the finish.
- Reduce prolonged direct sunlight where practical. A protective treatment does not make the seat immune to wear or heat.
Will the finish last? Durability depends on the remaining leather, preparation, previous coatings, and daily use. Recoloring can improve sound material, but it cannot stop a brittle panel from splitting or repair weak backing. Tell us about earlier dye, filler, or glue so we can assess whether preparation or panel replacement is the better option. Follow the agreed curing and cleaning instructions before putting the seat back into regular use.
If a seat keeps getting damp, investigate the water entry before restoring the cover. Roof seals, drains, or another leak may need separate work.

Boxster leather seat repair FAQs
Practical answers about cost, matching, materials, timing, and collection.
How much does Boxster leather seat repair cost in Dubai?
Minor local repairs are estimated at AED 525–735, one panel retrim at AED 945–1,890, and a full single-seat leather retrim at AED 2,625–4,200. These tentative ranges include 5% VAT. The final quote confirms the area, material, labor, removal and fitting, and total including VAT.
Can you repair the bolster without replacing the whole seat?
Often, if damage is localized. Surface restoration may suit worn color on sound leather. If the panel is torn or brittle, replacing that panel may be better. The remaining cover and cushion must be assessed before choosing the repair.
Will the repaired area match the original color?
We aim for a close match to the current surrounding trim, considering tone, grain, and sheen. Age, fading, previous repairs, and material availability can leave a visible difference. Agree the expected result before approving the work.
How long does leather seat repair take?
A small repair may need several working hours plus drying or curing time. More extensive restoration or retrimming may take around 1–3 days once materials are available. Special material sourcing or additional cushion work can take longer. Confirm the handover date after inspection.
Do both seats need to be retrimmed?
No. One panel or one seat can be quoted independently if the rest is serviceable. Compare both seats when widespread wear or a color change would otherwise leave an appearance you do not want. Prices shown per seat do not include the passenger seat.
Can you work on perforated leather or Alcantara inserts?
We assess the exact material and panel construction first. Perforation, heating or ventilation where fitted, and microfiber inserts need appropriate methods. A leather recoloring treatment is not automatically suitable for every insert.
Will leather repair fix a sagging cushion or seat warning light?
No. A cover repair does not fix collapsed foam, a damaged frame, a motor fault, or an airbag or occupancy-system warning. Mention these concerns when booking so they can be assessed and quoted separately.
Can I use a DIY leather repair kit first?
A suitable cleaner may help intact but dirty leather, following the product instructions and a hidden-area test. Avoid applying fillers, glue, or strong dye before assessment if the damage is deep, the material is uncertain, or a special seam is involved. Earlier coatings can make later restoration more difficult.
What warranty applies to upholstery work?
Your written quote will state the warranty applicable to the selected upholstery work. Confirm the duration, whether it covers finish adhesion, stitching or material defects, and the remedy if an eligible problem occurs. Coverage for qualifying original-parts repairs does not automatically establish coverage for recoloring or custom retrimming.
Can you quote from photos and collect the car?
Photos can support a starting estimate and help identify likely repair options. Hidden backing damage, cushion condition, and previous coatings may need inspection. Free pickup and delivery can be arranged with the workshop after confirming your location and appointment.
