Hot engine or rapid coolant loss
Pull over safely and switch off if you see steam, a red temperature warning, a rising temperature gauge or coolant escaping quickly. Driving on can turn a pump repair into much more expensive engine work.

A small leak still needs attention
Coolant crust around a seal, repeated low-level warnings or a whine from the belt area can be early signs of trouble. Arrange a check before the leak becomes a breakdown.

The right pump for your car
Cayenne engines need different parts
A 955, 957, 958 or later 9Y0 Cayenne does not use one universal water pump. Petrol, diesel and E-Hybrid versions can differ in their pump, thermostat, housing and access requirements.
Main and auxiliary pumps differ
The main engine pump circulates coolant through the engine cooling system. An auxiliary electric pump serves a particular cooling circuit or operating function. A quote for one is not a quote for every pump fitted to the vehicle.
For an electric pump fault, the power supply, wiring and control signal need checking alongside the pump. For a mechanical pump, leakage, bearing condition and the relevant drive components help establish the repair.
E-Hybrid enquiries
Share the exact variant when booking. Hybrid cooling work must follow the procedure for the affected circuit, including high-voltage precautions wherever required. The estimates above are not prices for battery-system or high-voltage repairs.

Should the thermostat be replaced too?
Only when its condition, a confirmed fault or shared access makes replacement worthwhile. We can quote the pump alone and show the extra cost of a thermostat separately. Replacing a working thermostat is a choice to discuss, not an automatic requirement on every Cayenne.
How long will my Cayenne be in the workshop?

Can you replace an E-Hybrid coolant pump?
We assess Cayenne E-Hybrid cooling faults and identify the exact pump and circuit before quoting. The engine water pump and auxiliary electric pumps are different components. Any work involving high-voltage systems needs the correct isolation and repair procedure for that vehicle.
Is a coolant flush included?
The displayed pump estimates include the coolant needed for the replacement and correct filling and bleeding. A separate cleaning or flushing treatment for contaminated coolant is additional work and is quoted before it starts.
What warranty comes with the repair?
