Which costs are separate?
Extended testing, dismantling, accident damage, additional failed parts and special-order work are separate unless listed. The initial fault check is free. We explain any further charge before proceeding, and agree extra work before adding it to the bill.

Send the itemised estimate. We can compare the same parts, quantities and fitting work, including fluids, alignment and VAT. A part-only price cannot be compared with a complete installed repair.
What the fitted price includes
These examples show different repair needs and the work included. They are planning estimates, not records of completed customer jobs. All totals include the listed parts, labour and 5% VAT.
One axle of brake pads
Suitable supplier-brand pads; existing discs and calipers remain serviceable.

- Not included: Discs, wear sensors, replacement hardware and caliper repairs are extra.

Replace a noisy belt tensioner
The belt and tensioner need renewal; other drive components can be retained.

- Included: New matched belt and tensioner assembly, normal fitting, tracking and running checks.
- Not included: Separate idlers, leaking components and damaged accessories are extra.
Allow a workshop day; confirm access and parts timing first.
Restore a worn suspension joint
One compatible aftermarket control arm is required, with routine access.

Why two repair quotes differ
- Parts choice
- Porsche Genuine, a named component manufacturer and an unbranded replacement are different purchases. Ask for the brand and part reference. A suitable alternative can reduce the bill when its application and quality meet the job.
- Work included
- A brake quote may cover pads alone, pads and sensors, or discs as well. A suspension quote may omit alignment. Compare the completed repair, including necessary consumables and checks.
- Access and condition
- Mid-engine access, corroded fasteners and previous repairs can change labour. A low-cost seal can still involve substantial removal and refitting work.
For standard brakes, supplier-brand pad estimates are AED 1,890–3,150 per axle; Porsche Genuine pads are AED 2,625–4,725. Both include fitting and VAT. Ceramic PCCB brakes and modified systems need their own quotation.
How the model affects cost
The engine, gearbox and fitted equipment matter as much as the model badge. Share the year and repair needed; the VIN can be checked later when matching parts.
Earlier flat-six Boxsters, 718 turbocharged four-cylinder models and 4.0-litre versions use different service parts and oil quantities. Manual-clutch work also differs from Tiptronic or PDK repairs.
Tell us about brake upgrades, modified suspension or previous engine work. Factory information is useful, but the quotation must match the car as it is now.

- Across these versions, allow AED 3,675–8,400 including VAT for the due work listed in the quotation. Gearbox servicing and repairs are not automatically included.
Oil and filter servicing is priced separately from repairs. Your quotation lists the work approved for this visit.
Maintenance costs and unexpected repairs
A single annual average can hide the expensive year when several wear items fall due. Build your budget from the service history, current condition and the mileage you expect to cover.
- Scheduled work
- Start with the oil service and any due filters, plugs, brake fluid or transmission fluids. Follow the maintenance requirements for the exact year and engine, including time-based items on low-mileage cars.
- Known wear
- Add the tyres, brakes, battery or suspension parts that inspection shows are approaching replacement. Tyre size, load and speed rating, brand and fitting all affect the total.
- Unplanned repairs
- Keep a separate reserve for faults. A service package does not automatically pay for a roof motor, a coolant leak or an engine repair, and one car’s bill is not a prediction for another.

Keep service records
Invoices help identify work already completed and avoid buying the same maintenance twice. Bring the last service details and any recent repair quotation.
Combine shared access
When repairs genuinely share dismantling, doing them together may reduce repeated labour. A clutch visit is an opportunity to assess accessible seals and the flywheel, not a reason to replace every nearby part.
Price the alternatives
Ask whether the original component can be repaired, whether a named replacement is available and how each choice changes the fitted price and lead time.
Ask about a service contract
Relevant contracts offer up to 20% off repair labour, with 10% off parts under selected contracts. Ask which contract and work qualify before comparing costs. These are contract benefits, not a blanket discount on every repair.

Allow a working day for many straightforward maintenance or wear-item jobs, roughly 1–3 days for contained repairs and 1–3 weeks for major engine work. These are planning times; ordering and machining may add time.

Questions before you approve
How much should I budget each year for a Boxster?
Start with the service due, then add known tyre, brake, battery and suspension wear. Oil-service estimates range from AED 945 to AED 2,205 including VAT across the covered generations. A year with major maintenance or an unexpected repair can cost substantially more. There is no reliable fixed annual repair total for every Boxster.
Are these confirmed workshop prices?
No. They are planning estimates from the published service and repair guides, with the VAT treatment stated. We confirm your model, parts, included work and total before you approve the quotation. They are not promises that a fault can be repaired for the lowest number shown.
Do older Boxsters always cost less to repair?
No. A lower purchase price can come with worn components, missing maintenance records or harder-to-source parts. Newer cars can have higher-cost equipment. Condition, generation and the specific repair matter more than age alone.
Can I choose suitable alternative parts?
Where a suitable option is available, yes. Ask for the manufacturer, part reference, fitted price and repair coverage. Genuine Porsche parts and an identified supplier-brand alternative should be compared by the exact application, not by an unsupported OEM-quality label.
When is engine replacement worth considering?
Compare the complete repair or rebuild with a compatible replacement after the damage is established. Our engine guide budgets AED 19,000–40,000+ for a rebuild and AED 17,000–34,000+ for a used or reconditioned engine installed, including VAT. Engine condition, supplied components and additional faults change the result; the cheaper headline is not automatically the better purchase.
Can you quote from a warning-light photo?
A photograph can help start the enquiry, but it cannot identify every failed component. We can explain the likely next step and relevant budget. The initial fault check is free; extended testing or dismantling is quoted separately before it starts.
Can I postpone a repair to reduce this month’s bill?
Ask which work is urgent and which can be planned. Stop safely for a red oil-pressure warning, overheating, severe knocking or unsafe braking. An insecure roof, significant fluid loss or unstable steering also needs prompt advice. Collection can be arranged when the car should not be driven.
What should the final quotation include?
The identified job, parts brand and quantities, labour, necessary fluids or consumables, alignment or programming where relevant, VAT, exclusions and expected timing. Additional work should be approved separately. Keep the invoice and the relevant warranty information with your service records.
