control arm replacement in Dubai
Clunks over bumps, uneven tire wear or steering that no longer feels settled? Book a suspension inspection to identify the worn arm, bushing or joint before choosing the repair.
Control arm replacement renews the affected suspension link to help restore wheel location and handling. Send your Boxster’s year and symptoms for an initial estimate, followed by a confirmed quote after inspection.

Small knocks. Uneven wear. A less precise drive.
A knock on uneven roads
A worn arm bushing or ball joint can knock over bumps or during load changes. Drop links, top mounts and other loose components can sound similar.
Pulling or vague steering
Movement in a suspension joint can affect wheel position. Tire pressure, tire condition and alignment also need checking before an arm is blamed.
Wear along a tire edge
Inner or outer shoulder wear calls for a suspension and geometry check. Replacing tires alone leaves the underlying cause unresolved if a joint is loose.
Severe looseness, sudden pulling or a visibly displaced wheel? Stop safely and arrange recovery. Mild noise still needs prompt inspection; a description or recording cannot establish that the car is safe to drive.

One arm, a bushing, or a wider repair?
Replace the complete arm
Usually the suitable route when the arm is damaged or its joint is worn and cannot be serviced separately. Confirm the exact part and axle before ordering.
Consider a bushing-only repair
An option only when the arm and joint remain sound, a suitable replacement bush exists, and fitting labor makes it worthwhile. It is not a cure for ball-joint play.
Compare one side with an axle pair
Inspect both sides. Replace a pair when both are worn or the findings justify it. A serviceable opposite arm does not automatically need replacement.
Agree the work before fitting. The quote should identify the affected arm, parts brand, required hardware, labor, geometry check and any alignment adjustment.
Separate unless listed: tires, wheel bearings, dampers, top mounts, drop links and additional arms. Seized bolts or impact damage may change the scope after inspection.
Boxster control arm replacement cost
The exact arm, front or rear location, parts choice and access determine the price. These are indicative AED estimates, not fixed offers.
| Quote item | AED before VAT |
|---|---|
| Aftermarket arm, per arm Brand and fitment confirmed first | 800–1,500 |
| Genuine Porsche arm, per arm | 1,200–2,000 |
| Routine replacement labor, one arm | 600–1,200 |
| Wheel alignment | 300–600 |
The component figures above exclude VAT. Complete estimates below already include routine labor, alignment and 5% VAT; do not add those items again.
Complete estimates including VAT: one aftermarket arm AED 1,785–3,465; one genuine Porsche arm AED 2,205–3,990. These totals cover one arm, routine labor and alignment. Bushing-only and multi-arm work receive their own itemized quote. Inspection fees, required hardware and extra repairs are identified before approval.

Tell us about the noise or handling concern. The year and mileage are helpful but optional to start. We identify the affected arm and request a VIN only when needed for parts matching.
Three ways the repair scope changes the bill
Typical job estimates including 5% VAT for the listed parts, routine fitting and alignment. These are not completed customer jobs. Inspection fees and extra hardware are separate unless listed; seized fasteners, other worn components and accident damage may increase the quote.
One front arm with confirmed play
Concern: Clunk over small bumps; inspection identifies one worn front lower arm.
Proposed work: One compatible aftermarket arm, routine fitting and alignment.
AED 1,785–2,625
About one working day once parts are available.
Both front arms show wear
Concern: Steering feels unsettled and inspection finds worn joints on both sides.
Proposed work: Two compatible aftermarket arms, shared fitting labor and alignment.
AED 3,045–5,040
One to two working days, subject to bolt condition.
Single rear arm, genuine-parts option
Concern: Rear suspension knock with wear isolated to one arm.
Proposed work: One genuine arm matched by VIN, fitting and alignment.
AED 2,205–3,990
About one working day; ordering time is additional.
Which control arm option suits your Boxster?
Choose by the fitted specification, the condition of the surrounding suspension and the total cost. We check compatibility before parts are ordered, so you do not need to identify the suspension link yourself.
Genuine Porsche arm
A Porsche-branded replacement is identified by its matched part number. The quoted price should include the arm, fitting, required alignment and applicable written coverage. Ordering time is separate from workshop time.
Choose this option when retaining genuine parts is your preference. The quote still needs to specify the axle, side and exact link because there may be several arms at one wheel.
Suitable aftermarket arm
The manufacturer and product specification should be named in the quote. Compare the complete fitted price and warranty, rather than treating every aftermarket product as the same option.
A standard road-use replacement should match the vehicle’s requirements. Modified or adjustable arms need a separate discussion about fitment, alignment range and the intended use of the car.
Bushing-only repair
This may be worthwhile when the arm and joint are sound and the correct bush can be fitted using an appropriate method. The quote must include removal, pressing work, refitting and geometry checks.
Compare that total with a complete arm. Reusing an arm with a worn joint can leave the noise or movement unresolved, even after a new bushing is installed.
Inspection and hardware costs
The workshop explains any chargeable inspection before work starts. The quote identifies replacement bolts, nuts or other required hardware and whether their cost is included. Seized fasteners or damaged mounting points can require additional labor, which is discussed before approval.
One side or both sides
The inspection determines whether only one arm or both sides need replacement. An axle-pair quotation should show two parts, the combined labor and one alignment charge where applicable. Do not simply double a single-arm fitted quote, because some workshop work may be shared.
What to review after control arm replacement
Alignment scope
The fitted estimates include alignment. The quote should explain the measurement and adjustment scope and whether a results report is supplied. If other wear or damage prevents the intended settings, that needs to be explained rather than hidden behind a completed alignment charge.
Handling and remaining wear
Review the repaired noise, steering feel and any findings from the road test when safe. Existing uneven tire wear will not disappear after a new arm is fitted. Tire condition and any unrelated suspension concerns should be discussed separately.
Your repair record
Keep the invoice identifying the installed part, repair scope and written coverage. If a concern returns, describe when it occurs and contact the workshop. A new impact or another worn component needs assessment before it is treated as a failure of the replaced arm.
Ready to arrange an inspection? A short description of the noise or handling change is enough to start. We explain the next step, available appointment and quotation process. Photos, mileage and previous invoices can be supplied later if helpful.
Your generation is only the starting point
986 and 987 Boxster
Terms such as “coffin arm” and “tuning fork” can refer to different suspension links. Identify the actual worn part; a quote for one link does not cover every arm at that wheel.
981 and 718 Boxster
Confirm the VIN, axle and suspension specification. Standard, S, GTS and Spyder descriptions alone are not enough to assume the same part or alignment requirements.
A clear route back to a settled drive
Describe the concern
Tell us when the noise occurs, which end of the car it comes from and whether it followed a pothole or curb impact.
Inspect and approve
Check the arms, bushes, joints and nearby components. Review the recommended parts, full price and timing before authorizing repairs.
Replace and check geometry
Fit the agreed components using the correct procedure, then check alignment. Adjustments and any limits caused by other damage should be explained.
Check the result
Recheck the repair and road-test when safe. Review any remaining tire wear or unrelated noises before collection.

The repair is checked together with wheel geometry and any remaining noise or tire-wear concerns before collection.
Parts, warranty and a written scope
Ask for the parts brand and number, the reason for replacement and whether alignment is included. Compare genuine and suitable aftermarket options on the full fitted price.
The published policy describes 12-month coverage for eligible original parts supplied and fitted by the workshop and related labor. Your quote records the applicable terms for the selected repair. Aftermarket parts may have different coverage, so compare the written terms alongside the fitted price.

How much does Boxster control arm replacement cost?
Estimated fitted totals including alignment and 5% VAT are AED 1,785–3,465 for one suitable aftermarket arm or AED 2,205–3,990 for one genuine Porsche arm. Inspection, extra hardware and additional damage are separate unless listed in the quote.
Can I drive with a knocking control arm?
A noise alone cannot establish safety. Severe looseness, sudden pulling, a displaced wheel or unstable handling calls for stopping safely and arranging recovery. For a mild knock, contact the workshop promptly to discuss inspection and transport.
How long does replacement take?
Allow around one working day for a straightforward single-arm job once the correct part is available. Multiple arms, seized fasteners, additional damage or parts ordering can extend the time. Confirm the collection estimate after inspection.
Can you replace just the control arm bushing?
Sometimes. The arm and ball joint must remain serviceable, and a suitable replacement bush and fitting method must be available. Compare the complete fitted price with a new arm. A bushing replacement will not correct a worn ball joint.
Do both control arms need replacing together?
Not automatically. Both sides should be inspected, but the recommendation depends on their condition. Pair replacement may make sense when both are worn; ask the workshop to explain the findings and quote each option.
Is wheel alignment needed afterward?
Wheel geometry should be checked after control arm replacement and adjusted as required. The fitted totals on this page include alignment. Confirm this in your quote, especially if tire wear, impact damage or other worn suspension parts are present.
Will a 987 arm fit a 986 or a 718 Boxster?
Do not order by appearance or model nickname alone. Some components may share applications, but compatibility must be checked by VIN, axle, side and part number. Tell the workshop about PASM, sports suspension and any modifications.
What warranty applies to the replacement arm?
The published policy describes 12-month coverage for eligible original parts and related labor, subject to its conditions. Coverage for aftermarket components is stated in the written quotation. Keep the invoice and contact the workshop if a related noise or handling concern returns.
