Front bearing replacement prices

Budget AED 1,200–3,500 for one front wheel bearing supplied and fitted. The bearing brand, Boxster generation and condition of the hub determine where your repair falls within the range.

Indicative estimates in AED per front wheel, including 5% VAT. These are guide budgets, not fixed workshop offers.
New bearing optionFitted estimateWhat you are choosing
Quality aftermarketAED 1,200–2,500A compatible replacement from an identified manufacturer, selected to suit the vehicle and budget.
OE-supplier brandedAED 1,400–2,900A bearing from a recognised original-equipment supplier, with its exact application checked. Supplier branding is different from Porsche packaging.
Porsche GenuineAED 1,700–3,500A Porsche-branded part matched to the vehicle, for owners who prefer original parts.

These estimates are a guide to the likely cost, not a fixed-price offer. Your written quotation confirms the chosen bearing, included work and VAT-inclusive total before fitting.

Included in these estimates

  • One new front bearing and normal removal and fitting labour.
  • Inspection of the hub, bearing seat and nearby components exposed during the work.
  • Normal fitting consumables and required standard retaining hardware.
  • Reassembly checks and a road test when safe.

Quoted separately if needed

  • A damaged wheel hub or wheel carrier.
  • Seized-component extraction beyond normal fitting work.
  • ABS sensor repairs, brake parts, tires or suspension repairs.
  • Wheel alignment where the work or existing tire wear makes it necessary.
Estimated workshop time: 2–4 working hours for one sideSame-day completion depends on parts, inspection and booking availability

Send the model year and symptoms for a closer estimate. Checking the hub while the bearing is out can prevent paying for the same dismantling twice.

Replace what is worn

One bearing or both fronts?

A front wheel bearing can be replaced individually. We inspect the opposite side, but a healthy bearing does not automatically need replacing because the other one has failed.

One worn bearing
Replace that side when the other bearing checks out. This keeps the repair focused and avoids an unnecessary parts bill.
Both sides worn
Quote both together. Shared checks may reduce repeat workshop time, so the pair should receive its own fitted quotation.
Damaged hub or seat
A new bearing alone may not be enough if the hub surface or carrier is damaged. We show you the additional work and cost before continuing.

A worn sealed bearing is normally replaced, rather than quietened with extra grease or an adjustment. The replacement method follows the bearing and hub arrangement fitted to your car.

Tell us when the noise happens

Humming, scraping or a knock?

These sounds need different checks. Describing the pattern helps us avoid replacing a bearing when the noise comes from a tire, brake or suspension joint.

01

A hum with road speed

A rumble that rises with vehicle speed can point to a wheel bearing. Uneven tire tread can produce a similar sound.

Tell us the speed range.
02

Scraping when braking

Brake pads, discs or a contacting dust shield may be involved. Noise alone cannot identify the bearing or the side.

Mention any pedal change.
03

A knock over bumps

Suspension joints and bushes also need checking. If the concern is a knock rather than a rotating hum, a Boxster control arm inspection may be relevant.

Mention recent pothole impact.

Grinding, noticeable wheel looseness or unstable steering? Stop safely and call before driving further. Continued use can worsen bearing and hub damage. Arrange recovery when the car cannot be driven safely.

The right part for your Boxster

A bearing advertised simply as “Porsche Boxster” is not enough to place an order. We check the generation, model year and exact application before confirming the part.

Tell us whether you have a standard Boxster, S, GTS or Spyder. The VIN or registration details can help settle a fitment question before parts are ordered, especially if the car has replacement hubs or modified suspension.

The quote should name the part manufacturer and say whether it covers a bearing alone or an assembly. “OEM” on its own does not explain the brand, included hardware or warranty.

  • Confirm front axle and the side needing work.
  • Match the bearing and any applicable wheel-speed sensing features.
  • Check the hub before authorising additional parts.

If inspection locates the noise at the rear, the rear wheel bearing replacement service covers that separate repair.

What happens at the workshop

The aim is a quiet, correctly assembled wheel and a clear record of the work. Bearing replacement needs controlled fitting, not force through the wrong surfaces.

  1. 01

    Confirm the worn side

We review the noise, check the wheels and surrounding parts, and road-test when safe. An ABS warning requires its own checks; it is not proof of a failed bearing.

  2. 02

    Agree the fitted price

You receive the parts choice, inclusions, estimated time and total for approval. If dismantling exposes damage, additional work is discussed first.

  3. 03

    Remove and fit carefully

We use the appropriate extraction and fitting equipment, protect the brake and sensor components, and apply the vehicle-specific fastening requirements.

  4. 04

    Check the result

Wheel rotation, assembly security and relevant warning lights are checked. A final drive, when safe, confirms whether the original noise has been resolved.

Allow extra time if the bearing is seized, the hub is damaged or the required part must be ordered. Alignment is assessed according to what was disturbed and the car’s condition; balancing does not repair a worn bearing.

A useful first message

Describe when the front-wheel noise changes

  • Your Boxster year and model.
  • The speed at which the noise begins.
  • Whether turning, braking or road surface changes it.

Tell us about wheel looseness, vibration or an ABS warning. You do not need to identify the faulty side before contacting us.

Boxster wheel bearing questions

Can I drive with a noisy front wheel bearing?

Arrange an inspection promptly. Noise alone cannot establish how much wear is present or whether the car is safe. If there is grinding, wheel looseness or unstable handling, stop safely and arrange assistance instead of driving to the workshop.

Does a wheel bearing need coding?

A mechanical bearing replacement does not normally need coding. An ABS or stability-control warning may need fault checks and live wheel-speed readings. Sensor damage or another electrical fault is separate work.

Will the noise disappear after replacement?

It should resolve noise caused by that bearing. Tires, brakes or another bearing may also be noisy, which is why the original complaint is checked again before handover.

Is wheel alignment included?

The displayed estimates cover bearing replacement, not a separate alignment service. We advise on alignment if suspension geometry was disturbed, the steering is off-centre or tire wear indicates a need, and quote it before proceeding.

Can I bring my own bearing?

Ask before buying it. We need to confirm fitment and agree fitting labour, any missing hardware and the terms for customer-supplied parts. A low parts-only price is not the total repair cost.

Is this the same as an IMS bearing?

No. A front wheel bearing supports rotation at a front wheel. The intermediate shaft, or IMS, bearing is an engine component on certain Boxster engines and involves different work.

How do I arrange a quote?

Call or WhatsApp with the model year and what you hear or feel. Tell us if the noise changes with road speed, braking or turning. We will discuss the inspection, parts options and availability; the appointment is confirmed by the workshop.
